The ethical implications of using different research methods in theories of attachment?

The ethical implications of using different research methods in theories of attachment

What are the eithical implications of the strange situation by Ainsworth and Bell, the case studie of Genie, Harlows monkeys etc.

The ethical implications of using different research methods in theories of attachment?
In the strange situation study - it caused distress to at least some of the children - and you could argue they wanted the situation to go away (the experiment to stop) but it didn't - restriction of the right to withdraw.

If the monkey is the one I'm thinking off, I think it's just distress to the monkey.
Reply:the ethical implications of Harlow monkeys was that today that experiment would not be allowed to be carried out as it was confusing and distressing for the baby monkeys. Micheal Eysenck book is a simple read for this psychology for as level. the strange situation is similar and only served to strengthen bowblys theories of attachment. know this doesn't give a real answer but hope it helps you go in the right direction.good luck xx

What are some research methods used for uncovering basic emotions?

I am doing a paper on this topic and need a shove in the right direction. I am looking for just the method so I can do the research on it. Thanks!

What are some research methods used for uncovering basic emotions?
I think your questions is too broad to even answer properly, but I will give it a shot anyway. What about doing survey research in multiple countries and cultures within countries to determine what are the universal emotions recognized by all people. Good luck.

What research methods do historians use?

What research methods does a historian use?

What research methods do historians use?
Historians have to probably conduct interviews with those closely associated with events in history, collect and study artifacts, read scholarly materials such as periodicals, journals, etc...

There is no real truth, except the truth as it happens.
Reply:primary that read/study analyze records - considered first person sources or primary sources.

For instance , someone who saw and heard Lincoln give the Gettysburg address would be a first person source. as would Lincoln.

How do I state a hypothesis for a very general question in Applied Research Methods?

I just want to state the question right so that I have two variables, one independent and one dependent. Right now I am NOT studying extraneous variables but will shortly. Right now I am studying Applied Research Methods and I have my independent variable as "Guns found in the home" and the dependent variable as "Occurrence of domestic violence". Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How do I state a hypothesis for a very general question in Applied Research Methods?
A hypothesis, my dear, is not the stating of a question. A hypothesis is an educated answer to the question. So, your question would be what affect does having guns in the home have on the occurence of domestic violence? Hypothesis is: Having guns in the home will increase the amount of domestic violence because... then you work on the methods you will use to test your hypothesis.

What are the difference between research methods and research methodology?

What are the difference between research methods and research methodology?

What are the difference between research methods and research methodology?
Research method is the source of your research. While Research Methodology is literature review.

For e.g:

You're doing some research regarding 'bout "building renovation"

You need the source of the research. For literature review, you need to find the terms and meaning of building renovation, the history and the details of which part of building you want to make research.

So, that's the difference between Methodology and methods research
Reply:One is the physical tools you use. The other are the evaluative tools you use.

If you use a thermometer to measure your results, that is your research methods. If you compare the average temperature between two groups, that is your research methodology.
Reply:"research methods" means the ways to start a research;

"research methodology" means the theory of ways of research.

What is a good topic to study for research methods if my major is psychology?

I am a junior studying psychology and I take a research methods class and I am kind of stuck at finding a topic to research thats a major part of my grade.

What is a good topic to study for research methods if my major is psychology?
I dont know but i think it should be of interest to you. I am a junior as well and when i had to do my research projects i chose Major Depressive Disorder and (DID) Dissocitive Identity Disorder which is also known as multiple personality disorder. These topics are very interesting and i learned alot and my favorite is Dissociative Identity Disorder. You will find lots information. When doing my project, I brought in movies and played clips that pertained to Dissocitive Identity Disorder, movies such as Hide and Seek, Secret Window, Idnentity are all good picks. These are the movie scenes or clippings i showed and i got an A, hope this helps. GOOD LUCK!! :-)

Case Study,Correlation,Experiment

A.Discuss one advantage of each research method listed above.B.Discuss one disadvantages of each research method listed above.C. For each method listed above, explain a key characteristic of the basic approach you could use to reach a scientific conclusion about the relationship between taking vitamin J and improving memory. You need not design a complete study.

Hmm.... correlational research requires less work, but you cannot infer causation. Experimental research allows you to randomly assign subjects, which usually improves the validity and generalizability of the research.

Actually, its just easier if I give you a link:

Reply:Case study, correlation, experiment? Uh, maybe you should have more than one sample. I propose the 3 main methods are objective testing like the MMPI, subjective testing like the Rorsach, and a well designed experiment that has nothing to do with Vitamin J.

Research methods?

psychologists uses three main research methods to study behavior: case study. correlation study, and expierement.

discuss the advantage AND disadvantage for each method.
