Are there any methods of prevention of anemia? Is there any direction for further research to cure anemia?

I was anemic. If you're a woman and menstruating, you are losing a lot of blood a month. You first need to ensure you're eating healthy. Most of us (not all) get hooked on fast food and don't get the proper nutrients.

If possible, try to eat foods high in iron, raisins, beef liver, dark green leafy vegetables, etc.

You're probably tired most of the time or at certain times of the day, my doctor has me on a prenatal vitamin (high in iron) along with a FEOSOL (iron supplement) once a day. This helps greatly. I was at the point that no matter how much sleep I got, I was still dragging or tired.

Also, if you are a tea drinker, tea (even in it's herbalist form) has some type of ingredient (and I'm not talking about caffeine) that rids the body of some iron. Once I stopped drinking the tea and taking the vitamins, I felt completely rejuvenated. My hairdresser complained about being tired and having no energy, even though she gets enough sleep and eats healthy. But, when I asked her if she drank tea, she said absolutely. She said she drank green tea in the morning and evening ritually. I suggested she stop drinking the tea and wait maybe three days along with taking a vitamin high in iron. She called me a week later and said that did it. That she felt soooo much better. That she thought green tea was good for us. I've learned somethings that are good for us in one way may be bad for something else. By the way, I also take a vitamin B complex (50mcgs) from GNC.

Another thing, I'm not sure how old you are, but my doctor highly recommended a colonoscopy to ensure I wasn't losing blood through my colon.

I hope this helps you.

Just to emphasize, I take vitamin B (50mcg) complex,,, those give you energy within an hour and they are water soluble. They also work wonders on migraines and stress headaches. ;-) Report Abuse
