Explain 2 different types research methods used in psychological reseach?
Water immersion and electrodes on sensitive parts
Reply:As has been mentioned the two major categories are Quantitative which is more numbers based and often involves tests, and statistics etc, also Qualitative which is interview/focus group based... looks at what people say, rather than the actual process of the answer. Quantitative, usually requires comparison between data, whereas Qualitative requires the analysis of words... if you want a more technical answer go and use Google Scholar... will maybe help.
Reply:I only know of quantitative or qualitative
Reply:Question and answers followed by comparative analysis of the results to get a 'range' or 'profile' of the average and its two opposite extremeties.

Observation and monitoring of the target subject or group, to assess what behaviours take place in certain, conditions or environments.
Reply:experimental

observational

and asking questions or survey, are all part of research methods.

Causal research

Descriptive research

Relational research
Reply:Experimental and observational, give examples of both. For example I don't know what the exact topic is about but for an experimental design you might use something like Milgrams prison simulation... sorry to be vague it was years ago I did psychology at 'A' level!

An important thing to remember is to describe what they both mean and then go on to give examples. I would conclude with the strengths and weaknesses of both.

Good luck
