Are there any ethical considerations for research methods?

Yes, it depends on the what you are researching, if its animal testing then you need to consider the animal's rights, if it deals with testing drugs using patients - then you need to consider side effects and such and various legality measures for those who get involved with the study.

If you are studying or using some other researchers material or mechansim, you need to get authorisation for use of that especially if its a copyright material. If its public material - referencing this study may be sufficient.

Also the way you deal with outliers in your study, and also you need to set out your assumptions. If these are not reasonable and you proceed with a conclusion - this can be misleading to readers - as such be unethical behaviour.
