Social psychologists tend to use experimental designs most often. If they use a correlational design, it's typically just as a preliminary study to help set up later experiments to determine the causal chain of a particular phenomenon.
Reply:I don't know if it's of any interest to you, but in Greece (where I come from) experimental social psychology is dominant comparing to clinical social psychology.
