Who believes in developing methods for stem cell research?

Well, if you believe in it I believe you shouldn't just vote for a politician that believes in it, you need to voice your opinion. I am all for anything that can provide a better life for mankind, including this. But if you believe in it, write to your congress(wo)man.

Who believes in developing methods for stem cell research?
Yes to stem cell research, and to promoting scientific research in general. We're so behind the rest of the world in science and engineering - it's going to bit us in the bud sooner rather than later!

Embryonic stem cell research needs to be federally funded. The embryos don't have to come from abortions. Fertility clinics produce dozens of extra embryos each time someone undergoes in vitro fertilization, each of which could be used for scientific purposes. Pro-life advocates have never objected to the practice of in-vitro (but for the life of me, I don't know why - so many embryos die for one success story) so maybe this is the best source for stem cells - ethically, socially, and scientifically.

Embryonic stem cells are completely undifferentiated, (unlike adult stem cells) and thus have so much potential! If only a certain president of ours respected the opinions of this nation and allowed it's practice!
Reply:I COMPLETELY agree with developing methods for Adult stem cell research.

And so does George Bush.

So I did.
Reply:As long as it's not embryonic
Reply:I beleive in it. You could grow new organs with it and organs are needed badly for transplant. It could take medical care a great leap forward.
Reply:Bush is against it because he dosnt feel the government should pay for it.
Reply:Great idea.

All the hoopla about embryonic stem cells so far has produced no medical break throughs, yet have problems. Embryonic stem cells, while they possibly have a greater potential, also tend to cause cancer when used. Personally, I don't agree with their use.

All beneficial stem cell advances so far have been made with adult stem cells and avoid all the controversy.

I voted as I saw fit.
Reply:I agree completely.
Reply:Excellent idea.
