Research methods in psychology?

independent group design

participants reaction time measured using computer game.half ppts given alcohol, other drink that smelled of alcohol

what is the independent and dependent variable.

how could the dependent variable be measured more precisely and accurately in this experiment?

why give the other group a drink that smelt of alcohol?

identify two confounding variables in this experiment

Research methods in psychology?
Independent Variable: Drink type (alcohol or not).

Dependent Variable: Reaction time.

I am not sure what is meant by 'using a computer game', heres an idea based on how I see it.

The dependent variable could be measured more precisely by having participants having to press a button on the keyboard and having the computer record the time.

Giving the other group the drink that smells of alcohol makes sure that they are unaware of if they are getting alcohol or not, so should not influence results any.

Confounding variables:

Experience with video games

Age
