Surveys need to be conducted in a scientifically controlled manner, with extremely careful planning ahead of time as to your plan to gather the data, the wording of the survey questions, how you'll obtain your sample, the size of the sample, the randomness of it, etc etc. Perhaps 80% of the work is done before you ask a single question.
then you need to know how to apply the complicated statistics to crunch the data.
If your methods are not sound, your conclusions are equally unsound.
