Need your help. Is a questionnaire with open and closed questions qualitative or quantitative? It's not being done by interview rather by mail or online (dunno if that makes a difference). Need your help on this one. Thanks x

anything that has closed questions like a multiple choice and can have answers presented as a bar-chart is quantitative
open questions are qualitative as they give an opinion.
Reply:Yes and No. It could be either depending on the how the questions are formulated and the people selected to respond. Test design is a critical topic. It is rarely done adequately.
In a questionnaire is done by mail, be prepared for a very low response rate- 10% would be excellent, 1% possible.
Responses from an internet questionnaire is likely to be garbage.
