How do you usually go about picking stocks to research?

I'm not asking which how you pick a stock to buy but how do you pick a stock to research before you buy it?





With thousands of stocks sold in different business sectors how do you begin to look?





Do you just randomly pick out companies and then just start to research them to see if they're good buys?





I already have a method to weed out which ones to buy, EPS, trading volume, earnings growth etc. but where do you begin to look?

How do you usually go about picking stocks to research?
If you undestand technical analysis, the answer will come by itself witch stock to buy.
