Explain the major advantages and disadvantages of the experimental method approach in psychological research?

Excluding the science of psychiatry and pharmaceutical medicine, the advantage to the researcher is a truer, less bias because you are working in the production environment with a real life at stake versus with theorists in a development environment. The advantage to the subject is that in an experimental scenario, they will often receive a higher level of service because the documented accountability of the project is more stringent.

Excluding once again pills and non-therapy or non-actioned based approaches, some disadvantages that the researcher may experience is a lack of professional peer support, fear of failure, and every first attempt counts. The largest disadvantage to the subject is that they exhibit extreme vulnerability in participation because it is nearly impossible to determine the researchers motives.
