Type of research method for engineering?

i dont know if this is really a reasearch method but can somebody tell me what is the research method that pertains to "implementing" works written?

Type of research method for engineering?
In engineering (and in most other fields), implementation refers to taking information and using it to change practices. For example, research might show that a certain surface chemical treatment makes aluminum parts last 50% longer. The first stage of the implementation would be to include the treatment on all new designs for aluminum parts. The second stage would be to obtain all existing aluminum parts in the enterprise and give them the treatment as well. In implementation, you'll often come across the word "enterprise," which refers to a company or other institution that has many operating parts. It's important to make sure that any implementation if put into effect across every aspect of the enterprise, or it won't have the desired effect.
